Registration and Abstract submission DL extended!

The deadlines for both registration and abstract submission of Chemical Sciences in Biological Challenges have been extended! Last day for submitting abstracts for both Oral and Poster presentations is now 12th of May, and the last day to register is 15th of May.

There are still open slots for both Oral and Poster presentations, and we warmly welcome all abstracts related to different fields of Chemictry, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Physical sciences, Environmental science and all related fileds of sciences!

A Sister event: Balticum Organicum Syntheticum 2022

We are happy to advertise an excellent conference organized in Vilnius couple of weeks later than Chemical Sciences in Biological Challenges. The BOS 2022 will be organized from 3rd to 6th of July and it covers both academic and industrial interests in the field of organic synthesis. The BOS 2022 website mentions the following as the goals of the conference:

  • to provide a forum for synthetic organic chemists from the entire world to speak of their work and discuss important scientific problems
  • to promote discussion between academic and industrial scientists about the possibilities of mutual cooperation

Registration is now open!

Registration and Abstract Submission for CSBC is now open!

Registration for Chemical Sciences in Biological Challenges is now open!

  • 200 € for academics
  • 150 € for students (MSc and PhD) & Retired/Emeritus/Emerita
  • 500 € for Industrial participants

Registration Fee for three days will cover all the program, food and refreshments (lunches, coffees during the breaks, refreshments during poster-session, and the conference dinner), and social programs.  Registration Fees are as follows:

It is also possible to attend the conference for a day. The Registration fees are then:

  • 60 € for Wednesday, 15th of June, including get-together
  • 100 € for Thursday, 16th of June, including Dinner
  • 60 € for Friday, 17th of June

Registration Fee for one day will cover all the program, food and refreshments (1 lunch, 1 coffee during the breaks, refreshments during poster-session (Wednesday), and the conference dinner (Thursday)).  Registration Fees for one day are as follows:

CSBC Goes MDPI Special Issues!

We are happy to launch two Special Issues related to the CSBC Conference. The Special Issues are entitled “Medicinal Chemistry in Biological Challenges” and “Chemosensors in Biological Challenges” and are published by Pharmaceuticals (IF 5.863) and Chemosensors (IF 3.398), respectively. Both journals are Open Access and published by MDPI. The special issues cover the same scientific areas as our Conference. All the participants are invited to publish in these Special Issues, but the publishing is not limited to participants.

Bernd Diehl awarded for the first George Hanna qNMR Award!

One of our Plenary Speakers, Professor Bernd Diehl, received the first George Hanna qNMR Award on October 2021, during the 6th International qNMR Summit organized by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). Bernd Diehl is the founder of Spectral Service that is a GMP and GLP certified, and FDA approved company providing variety of analytical services by NMR spectroscopy. He is also working as honorary professor for Instrumental Analytics and Advanced Analytical Methods in Bachelor and Master study at the University of Applied Science Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in Rheinbach, Germany. Bernd Diehl has considerably advanced the field of quantitative NMR by developing innovative NMR methods for several analytical challenges, actively sharing his knowledge and supporting other scientist.

Conference Postponed Again Due to COVID-19

We hope that all of you are doing fine despite this long-lasting COVID-19 situation. We have decided to postpone the CSBC conference again to next year. The conference will be arranged at the same place (Spa hotel Rauhalahti, Kuopio) from Wednesday 15th of June to Friday 17th of June 2022. We really hope that you are able to attend then as an Invited speaker.

If you have already registered, the registration is automatically valid for the conference but if you prefer cancelling the registration, we will return the participation fee to your account. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us at csbc2020@uef.fi.

FEBS National Lecture award to Professor Finnbar O’Harte

Federation of European Biological Societies (FEBS) has nominated Professor Finnbar O’Harte (Ulster University, UK) as a recipient of FEBS National Lecture award. The award will be presented at Chemical Sciences in Biological Challenges Symposium at Kuopio, Finland, June 3-5, 2020. Professor O’Harte has made fundamental contributions in development of stable peptide analogues for therapy of Type 2 diabetes and obesity. In the symposium he will deliver a talk “Apelin-13 peptide analogues versus incretin mimetics for alleviating metabolic dysfunction in diabetes: A comparative study”
